✈ 2 hours into our trip from Atlanta to Anchorage! Wow! Great flight, just long.
It was very tough leaving the kids this morning! Almost packed them up with us!
Going to be super happy to get on ground again! Will post more as our trip continues!
I know it had to be so hard to leave the family. What an adventure for you and Jim though. When it's all over and all of you are back together again, you'll have so many wonderful memories and be able to say "Yeah, it was definitely worth it!"
I keep checking your blog for updates ~ what are you doing up there!?!?! Sure do miss you here in the 'hood, but having Sara & Kyle and the kiddos is pretty darn cool too :-) Hope all is well and you're prepared for those little 5 yr olds to walk into your classroom soon. Love you!
oh my! i can truly say my time here has already been worth it. i'm so glad jim and i decided to take this leap and go beyond our boundaries. it would have been so easy to stay the rest of our years right there in cherokee village----venturing to cave city and as far as a trip now and then to the houston area. i will learn how to post pictures, and i will write more often than once a month. be patient as we are learning more technology than we've every known before. besides watching the natives jump in their boats and take off on a seal hunt, we have attended our first, but not last, Eskimo Dance. We sat for 3 hours watching these amazing people, children as well as adults, dancing to music beat out on homemade hand drums. I do have some pictures to attach as soon as i learn how. Jim has cleaned a few Salmon. Right now a group is supplying them to all of us. just finished a week of school and having a 3 day weekend is nice. maybe i'll be able to attach some pictures when i come back to work in my classroom tomorrow. i spent the whole afternoon booking tickets home for Christmas --- thanks to Amy.
Good!
